Just saw this now. Paul Motion was one of the greats of jazz and a hugely influential drummer. If you do not know him, was played for bandleaders such as Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett.
Oh wow! I was lucky enough to see him play at the Village Vanguard earlier this year with Ethan Iverson (from The Bad Plus) and Jack DeJohnette (from the Brad Mehldau Trio). What a loss.

Congrats to Chris Dixon and co for selling their team + product for such a high price. At an estimated 2X return for Series B investors Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst Partners, and Bessemer Venture Partners, it’s a huge disappointment for them after 18 months but a great win for the founders.
