Is BQE Tunnel Bypass Possible? - Gothamist
This is either brilliant or ridiculous.

Given the public works history of NYC after Robert Moses - I’d think this would have as much chance of succeeding as would putting the Second Avenue Subway right to my front door.  In QUEENS.

Wouldn’t this run straight through the proposed / sort-of-underway Brooklyn Nets basketball arena at Atlantic and Flatbush? Also, considering that a dozen subway lines converge at Atlantic-Pacific, you’d have to dig one hell of a deep tunnel.
But if it did happen, that’d be AWESOME.
