Definitely not enough data here, and the trend lines are hand drawn and therefore not grounded in any sort of real mathematical reality…
I’m wondering if there are two trajectories here for online communities. Some hypotheses: Some people clearly have found a voice that resonates while others do not. Or, the people in the top group “got here first” and were able to connect to other hubs early on, and therefore get reblogged by other more influential types more often (there for picking up more followers). Man, I wish I had the data to play with. Anonymized would work just fine. Please?
Data:
23 / 1691 / 142100 / 36103 / 45121 / 256128 / 298200 / 93222 / 523
