Who was saying Google was “past tense” last week?  Commence with the compression of “now”, as predicted.  It’s amazing the innovation you can unlock when you have the entire internet cached.  Everything else - social graph, aggregation, reputation, etc. - is just filters.  Good luck copying that Twitter/Facebook-FriendFeed. I’ll be test driving this sucker for a bit.

Just signed up for this experiment. It doesn’t seem to do anything for me.

    How to view social results:

    1) You’ll see a link at the bottom of results titled “Results from people in your social circle” for some searches (not all).

    2) Better option: Click on “+ Show options” at the top of the search results page, then filter by “Social”.

Still not working for me. “Your search - new york - did not match any documents. Reset search options” That can’t be right… Do I need to link my Twitter and Facebook accounts to my Google account or something?

I’m waiting for the inevitable “Oh, you need to set up your friends on Google” that tanks this whole idea. Hell, Gmail knows more about my social network than just about anyone.
