Starting to see ads for the Tesla in Google Reader.
I like their tag line: Faster than a Porsche, Greener than a Prius

Dear Branding / Marketing people,
Is it effective to name your competitors in your tagline? Obviously Porsche and Prius aren’t competitors feature to feature, but certainly are competing for the same customers.
