I think the Shake Shack twitter is a good example of how a business can use Twitter without annoying their customers, or potential customers.
You need to use Twitter as a value added component of your business. The more clever you are, the better.
I understand that Shake Shack doesn’t run that Twitter, but it is an example of what Shake Shack should have done if it didn’t already exist because the community created it for them.
Agreed. I also think the @shakeshack model might be a new kind of many-to-many topical communication mechanism, in the vein of listserves and newsgroups.
Last night, Nate presented his interest in creating a Council of Communities to assist in the cross-pollination of information and opportunities. What if, in addition to this council, a @NYTMCouncil bot was set up. All tweets that include @NYTMCouncil will be broadcast out to everyone following @NYTMCouncil.
For example, if a startup is looking to hire a developer, they can broadcast via @NYTMCouncil. If NYU is having a business plan competition, they can broadcast via @NYTMCouncil to solicit entrants.
